Un gentleman

Pour mon calendrier « Hollywood Golden Age », mon premier choix peut vous paraître étrange puisque j’ai choisi l’acteur anglais David Niven.
For my « Hollywood Golden Age » calendar, my first choice can be  strange because I chose an english actor David Niven.

Il est vrai que je craque complètement sur cet homme. Il a un charme époustouflant, une nonchalance renversante. Cette photo n’est-elle pas splendide ? Comment résister ?

Peut-être ne connaissez-vous pas bien cet acteur pourtant nul doute qu’il vous soit très familier.
Maybe you don’t know him well but for sure he seems very familiar.
Pour les français que nous sommes nous pensons facilement au film « Le cerveau ». En compagnie de Bourvil et Belmondo, Niven est irrésistible. Jouant de son physique de gentleman, il joue un méchant désopilant.
For french people he’s very famous for his character in « Le Cerveau ». With Bourvil and Belmondo, Niven is irresistible. He plays with her gentleman style to make a hilarious nasty man.

Et puis il y a le film mythique de « la Panthère Rose ». Sous la direction de Blake Edwards et en compagnie de Peter Sellers, David Niven excelle.
And there is an iconic movie : « the Pink Panther ». Directed by Blake Edwards and with Peter Sellers, he’s a master.

Mais David Niven c’est plus qu’un acteur comique feignant le sérieux, c’est un acteur époustouflant qui a remporté deux Golden Globes et un Oscar. Il a joué avec les plus grandes stars.
But David Niven he’s more a comic, it’s an incredible actor who won two Golden Globes and an Oscar. He played with the biggest stars.

Personnellement je l’adore dans le sublime film « Une question de vie ou de mort ». Film anglais de 1946 où un aviateur fait une demande pour reconsidérer sa mort. Magnifique, époustouflant.
Personally, I love him in the movie « A matter of life and death ». English movie of 1946 where an aviator makes a resquest to reconsider his death. Magnificient, astonishing.

Pour moi l’un des plus grands si ce n’est le plus grand des gentlemen à l’écran.
For me one of the biggest even the biggest gentleman on screen.
